Épisode de Les Voix de la Photo par Marine Lefort · 24 juin 2026 · 9 min

-> This episode is an extract from an interview. You will find the entire interview on this same account.

In this episode, I sit down with Elisa Medde, an art historian specializing in photography and visual culture, and the newly appointed director of Fundació Foto Colectania in Barcelona. For more than fifteen years, she has developed a practice that brings together publishing, curating, writing, and artistic direction.

We discuss her journey, from growing up in Sardinia to her first experiences in the world of international photography publishing. Elisa shares her perspective on the evolution of the photography industry, from the boom of photobooks and independent magazines to the impact of digital platforms on the circulation of images. We also explore the role of cultural institutions, the importance of building communities, the value of image editing, and the advice she offers to photographers and professionals looking to develop a meaningful career within the photography ecosystem. Enjoy the episode!
