Épisode de The Comedy Couch par The Comedy Couch · 14 avril 2024 · 40 min

This week on The Comedy Couch, we have the pleasure of introducing you to Wafa – a beacon of resilience and humor in the face of adversity.

From fleeing Iraq as a baby to navigating the complexities of growing up in London amidst constant uncertainty, Wafa’s childhood was far from ordinary. Yet, it is from these turbulent beginnings that her remarkable talent emerged.

As an adult, Wafa found herself ensnared in an abusive relationship in Paris, a city that offered little solace. But with unwavering strength and determination, she broke free, refusing to be defined by her circumstances.

Turning to comedy as her sanctuary, Wafa transforms her experiences of prejudice and patriarchal oppression into uproarious performances. Stepping on stage introducing herself as the only hijabi standup comedian in Paris she with each joke, not only entertains but also challenges societal norms and fosters empathy and understanding.

One thing remains unequivocally clear: Wafa is a formidable force of nature, her talent unparalleled, leaving all of us here at The Comedy Couch in awe and admiration.

So join us on the couch as we dive deep into Wafa’s incredible journey – a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the transformative power of laughter.
