Want to improve your French listening and speaking skills? In this French listening practice, I share a simple technique that can help you speak French more easily: instead of memorizing isolated words, try learning and memorizing complete sentences and paragraphs.

This video is also an opportunity to practice natural, everyday French while discovering useful French vocabulary and expressions in context.

🎧 French Listening Practice with a Native French Speaker

In this episode, I share a technique that I personally used when learning English and Spanish, especially when I had to give oral presentations.

When I wasn't comfortable improvising, I would prepare a script, memorize it, and practice saying it out loud. I later used a similar technique when preparing for job interviews: I would prepare a short introduction about myself and even prepare possible answers to common questions.

So why not use the same technique to learn French?

Instead of simply memorizing individual vocabulary words, try writing a short paragraph about yourself, your interests, your daily life, or a topic you know well. Then memorize it and practice saying it out loud.

🇫🇷 Why memorize a paragraph instead of individual words?

Because when you memorize a complete idea, you're not just learning vocabulary.

You're also learning how to:

Connect your ideas in French

Build complete sentences

Use logical connectors naturally

Transition from one idea to another

Express yourself more fluently

Speak French with greater confidence

This can be particularly useful if you understand French but struggle to put your vocabulary together when you speak.

Throughout the video, you'll discover useful everyday French vocabulary and French expressions based on the conversation. Key words and expressions appear on screen with English translations to help you understand and follow the French.
