Architect and engineer Noémie Aureau founded Atelier No'Au after nearly eight years at Renzo Piano Building Workshop in Paris. Her work brings together technical precision, environmental awareness and a sensitive reading of place.

In this short episode of Com d’Archi, she reflects on the origins of her practice and explains how engineering and architecture can work together to shape meaningful projects. For her, constraints are not obstacles but opportunities to create elegant, resilient and lasting architecture. The conversation also focuses on one of Atelier No'Au’s first major projects: the extension of a holiday resort on the Brittany coast. Designed through an off-site construction approach, the project combines timber structures, prefabricated components and careful integration within an exceptional natural landscape. Through this example, Noémie Aureau discusses design for assembly, low-carbon construction and the possibilities offered by industrialised timber building systems developed with SYbois, a key partner in both the project and this podcast.
