S7#33 🌞😎🇺🇸🇬🇧 "Inhabiting a Thousand Years" – Josselin Castle

Épisode de Com d'Archi par DEPONDT Anne-Charlotte · 7 juillet 2026 · 22 min

In the heart of Brittany, Josselin Castle has overlooked the Oust Valley for nearly a thousand years. A medieval fortress transformed into a Renaissance residence, it still bears the marks of the struggles between the Dukes of Brittany and the Kings of France, the ambitions of the House of Rohan, and the great evolution of military architecture.

To open Com d'Archi's 2026 summer series, Esther takes us on a journey where stone tells stories as much as construction techniques as the lives of those who built, inhabited, defended and restored this remarkable place. From the vanished keep to the delicate granite lacework of the Renaissance façade, from defensive architecture to its gardens, this episode explores a living monument where nearly a thousand years of history continue to inhabit the site.
