Today, that's my daughter's birthday.... and I’m going to tell you about a very personal challenge:

passing my native language on to my daughter, who was born and raised in Spain.

I’ve been speaking to her in French for five years… even though she almost always answers in Spanish!

Between pride, frustration, doubts, and small victories, I share what it really feels like to raise a bilingual child when the environment doesn’t always help.

You’ll see that our struggles are often the same: understanding a language is one thing… daring to speak it is another.

In this episode, I explain how I try to keep French alive at home—gently, patiently, and without pressure.

Aujourd’hui, c'est l'anniversaire de ma fille ... et je vais vous parler d’un défi très personnel :

transmettre ma langue maternelle à ma fille, née et élevée en Espagne.

Depuis cinq ans, je lui parle exclusivement en français… même si elle me répond presque toujours en espagnol !

Entre fierté, frustration, doutes et petites victoires, je partage avec vous ce que signifie élever un enfant bilingue quand l’environnement n’aide pas toujours.

Vous le savez, comprendre une langue, c’est une chose… l’oser, c’en est une autre.

Dans cet épisode, je vous raconte comment j’essaie de garder le français vivant à la maison, sans pression, avec patience.
