Jérémy, 45 years old, returns for a consultation after a while of absence. He wants to have a mole examined, but above all, he announces that he has separated from Loïc after 10 years of relationship. He seems to be coping well with it now and confides in me that he wants to meet new people, but he's scared of HIV. He recently got tested and has heard about PrEP, this preventive treatment against HIV.I explain how PrEP works, the necessary evaluations before taking it, and the follow-up to expect. We set a second appointment after his tests. When he returns, he has noted a lot of questions: daily intake or as needed, side effects, pharmacies, condoms… He is motivated, and together we decide on a continuous regimen.I give him all the information and a brochure from AIDES to supplement.
