(English) Episode 287-How Learning Heals Achilles Tendon Pain

Épisode de Health Physio+ par Arthromainpod · 6 octobre 2026 · 22 min

Clinical research comparing pain science education combined with exercise versus pathoanatomical education with exercise for chronic Achilles tendinopathy found no significant differences between the two groups.

Although both interventions achieved meaningful reductions in movement-evoked pain and improvements in physical function, neither educational approach proved superior to the other.

Furthermore, enhanced self-efficacy and knowledge gain strongly correlated with superior patient outcomes, suggesting that the acquisition of symptom self-management skills is more critical than the specific educational content delivered.

Ultimately, while rehabilitation programs effectively reduced pain and kinesiophobia, they did not alter central nervous system nociceptive processing regardless of the instructional framework utilized.
